Owen is five months old!

I'm five months old!
At five months old, Owen was:
Weight: 15 pounds, 25th percentile
Height: 26 inches long, between the 50th and 75th percentile

Eating:
Owen still eats about every three hours during the day, about five or six ounces at a time. He is still bottle-fed. Owen tried rice cereal for the first time on August 2. Most of it ended up on his shirt, but he didn’t seem to hate the flavor. He just didn’t know how to swallow it yet. Now, he has definitely gotten the hang of eating and loves rice cereal. We will introduce him to oatmeal cereal before we start him on pureed fruits and vegetables later this month.
According to most of the baby books, there are several factors that indicate a baby is ready to start solid foods. Owen definitely shows interest in eating and also watches us closely while we eat. He drinks more than 32 ounces a day and can hold his head up. The only indicator that he does not fit yet is the one that says a baby has generally doubled his birth weight by the time they're ready for solids. Owen isn't quite there yet, but I think he's definitely close to being ready.
What did you just put in my mouth?!
This is so good, I could kiss you!
To truly appreciate rice cereal, you must smear it all over your face.
Sleeping:
Owen is doing really well at sleeping through the night for the most part. Owen slept through the night for the first time on August 3. He slept from around 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. We tried to feed him at around 10 p.m. to help him make it through the night longer, but he slept through most of the feeding. Since then, we pretty much get him down for the night between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., wake him at about 9:30 for a final bottle of the night and then he will sleep until anywhere between 5:30 and 7 a.m. During the day, he generally has about three naps, a longish one is the morning and two shorter ones during the rest of the day.

Other Things I Want to Remember:
Owen is wearing 3-6 month size clothing. I recently packed up all his newborn and size 0-3 month clothing. It was a sad day for Mommy.

Owen doesn't wear shoes really, but if he did, he would be in size 2. He wears size 2 diapers. His hair is starting to come in more, especially in the place where it was rubbing off on the back. His eyes are getting darker and are currently a greenish-hazel color.
Owen found his feet this month and has been playing with them.
Where have these things been my whole life?
He has also learned to roll over this month. He rolled from his back to his front on August 17. He can only do this one way (over his right side) at the moment. He rolled over from front to back on August 30. He also rolls over his right side. So basically now, he rolls over and back over and over and over. Thankfully he hasn't yet learned to keep on rolling as a mode of transportation around the house.
He loves being around us so I generally put him in his Bebe Pod seat when I'm working in the kitchen so he can see what I am doing.
I'm helping Mommy bake brownies for Daddy.
We also put him in his seat when we eat at the table. That way, he can hang out with us and Tim and I can eat at the same time! Yay!
This is me crashing Mommy and Daddy's romantic anniversary dinner.
One of Owen’s new favorite books is called “Baby Giggles” by Rachael Hale. It has lots of photographs of babies in it and he enjoys looking at the pictures a lot. Another new favorite is "On the Night You Were Born" by Nancy Tillman. He still loves his Jesus Storybook Bible and babbles the whole time I read it to him.
We bought Owen a jumperoo this month. He really loves to play with the toys all around him and he can sort-of bounce in it if we have a box under his feet. I think the main reason he really likes it is because he can stand up in it and gets to see everything that is going on.
My jumperoo is so very fun!
My feet don't quite reach the floor yet so we use this box.
His other favorite toys include his musical Baby Einstein lion, Sophie the giraffe teether, his bug teether, and his crinkly elephant. He loves anything that makes noise. Something he thinks is a toy, but is not, is mommy and daddy's cell phones.

Owen loves when we sing to him. One of his favorite songs for Mommy to sing to him is the Beatles’ “Blackbird.” It always makes him smile. He also loves "Baby Bumblebee" and "You Are My Sunshine."
Owen is definitely more vocal now. He "talks" to us quite a bit. He also whines quite a lot, which doesn't always mean that he is unhappy. It's just the way that he "talks" sometimes.
Here are some pictures from his five month photo shoot. He was pretty uncooperative this month. He did not want Mommy to put him down and once he was okay with that, he kept grabbing the sticker on his shirt and trying to eat it.
Why did I never notice before that Mom put these stickers on me each month?
I like to wiggle when Mommy tries to take my picture. It results in some pretty funny looking faces.
This sticker is pretty tasty.
