So What! Wednesday

This week I'm saying So What! to:

  • I am more excited about Christmas coming because I bought some people the perfect gifts this year and I can't wait to see them open them.
  • I want to buy more presents just so I can wrap some more.
  • Tim and I had a budget meeting last week and to cut some spending, we canceled our Netflix. Yes, that's only $8.47 a month, but it's something.
  • I am weirdly excited about Owen getting a potty training seat soon.
  • Our schedule for our week with family this Christmas is completely packed already and it kind-of stresses me out.
  • We sent out 45 Christmas cards and have only received eight.
  • I used the wrinkle release setting on my dryer for one load of laundry three times before I finally remembered to fold it.
  • I am so sick of Facebook quotes like this: "I'm a teacher and after Friday's events I realize that I would sacrifice myself for my students...blah blah blah." It's NOT about you!
  • I think the idea of the world ending on Friday is hilarious. Did you see the episode of Raising Hope last week where they had planned for the end of the world apocalypse? Hulu it. You won't regret it.
  • I still haven't figured out how to use the blog button for Life After I Dew, where this post originates from. So I will link to it HERE.

So What! Wednesday

This week, I am linking up again with Shannon over at Life After I Dew for So What! Wednesday.  I had a great time with it last week so I wanted to participate again.

This week I'm saying So What if:

  • Tim and I are both trying to eat healthier right now, but we spent ten minutes in bed last night before going to sleep sharing the top three things that we wished we could eat right now. On his list: lemon butter shrimp with orzo pasta, an entire taco meatloaf, and a pint of Moose Tracks. On mine? Pepperoni pizza with banana peppers, a piece of red velvet cake, and a juicy hamburger.
  • I dug through our outside garbage yesterday to find the receipt from buying our new printer in case we need to return it if anything goes wrong. It was disgusting. I don't recommend it.
  • Tim and I spent more than we should have to buy me dresses for me to wear to some of the weddings we are going to this fall. They are super cute. Plus I heard Tim say these words, "I'm beginning to come to terms with the fact that it just costs more to be a woman." Can I get an AMEN?!
  • Tim and I had a major miscommunication moment. He asked off for a week earlier than the week I've been planning our vacation this September. So now he has to request the correct week off from work. Good thing we talked about it because it would have been awkward in September when he began wondering why I wasn't packing a week early.
  • I am counting down the days until the reveal of Julep's nail polish colors for this month. And I am taking my laptop to our mountain cabin this weekend so that I can check online and see the August boxes. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, click here.
  • I am so excited to be going on vacation this weekend. The main reason? Two words. Hot tub.
  • I have already started planning my cousin's bridal shower. Even though it is more than a month away, I've already done the invitations despite the fact that she hasn't even sent me a guest list yet.
  • I watched The Bachelorette The Men Tell All episode. My favorite part? When Emily Maynard told the stuck-up dude (Kalon) who called her daughter baggage, "I hope you find faith in something bigger than your Prada shoes and rented helicopter." Also, can you believe that Chris guy? After a promo for Bachelor Pad where he admits to hooking up with three girls, he then gets onstage with Chris Harrison and acts all sad because he was so in love with Emily. Blah blah. For some reason after that promo, it just didn't seem convincing.
  • I keep putting travel toys and other things in my Amazon Wish List for our trip this September. I am kind-of freaking out about our 15 hour road trip with an active 17-month-old.
  • I watched the show Big Brother last week and I don't get why it's so popular.

So What! Wednesday

So What! Wednesday is a weekly post started by one of my favorite bloggers, Shannon over at Life After I Dew. She's super real, ya'll, and tells it like it is. Plus, she's hilarious. Like the kind-of hilarious I wish I could be on my blog. Anyway, I'm linking up today with her blog.

This week I'm saying So What! if:

  • I gave Owen three servings of the same sample at Kroger on Monday just to get us through the whole shopping with a toddler ordeal. I know it says to just take one, but if Kroger wants me to spend money with them, they're just going to have to take a hit in the sample department. The only reason I shop there instead of Meijer is because of those samples.
  • I am addicted to nail polish thanks to Julep Maven. And so what if I write about it on the blog all the time? It makes me feel pretty and it's fun. Now I'm obsessed with having a fresh manicure at all times and as soon as it chips, it's time to take it off with nail polish remover and try a new color. And I'm already super excited about July 20th, when they will unveil their next month's colors. If you want to try it, click the link to the right and use the code to get your first box for a penny!
  • We still have four boxes left to unpack in our bedroom that I just can't seem to get around to unpacking. One of them is full of gorgeous Victoria's Secret bras that I can't fit into anymore (thanks Owen) and I have no idea what to do with them. I can't bear to throw them away, but I don't think Good Will accepts lingerie.
  • I didn't take a shower until after noon yesterday. Owen woke up early and I didn't get a chance to take a shower before he got up. If that happens, I generally have to wait until he naps to shower and true to Owen form lately, he refused to nap for forever yesterday.
  • I love receiving mail and I obsessively check our mailbox multiple times a day because our mailman comes at irregular times. So to solve the problem of having to walk the length of our driveway several times a day (yeah, I realize this makes me sound super lazy), I have tried to put something in the mailbox to mail every day this week so I can just look and see if the little flag has been put down before I check the mailbox.
  • We still have paint swatches painted on our walls after trying out paint colors two weeks ago. And we currently have no plans for amending that.
  • I bought an Erin Condren planner yesterday with some birthday money. I feel a little guilty because the price is pretty insane for a planner, but I'm justifying it because our fall is going to be so crazy that I need to keep track of everything. And it has tabs!!!! (And I did use a promo code to save a little money on it. Let me know if you want it.)
  • I twirl my hair when I'm stressed out. My mom hates it. My dad compares me to stupid college girls. And when Tim points it out, it just makes me want to keep doing it just to spite him.
  • I hide Owen's favorite books. Because if I have to read "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" one more time, I'm going to lose it.
  • Now that Owen is mobile, I have given up trying to pick up our living room throughout the day.  It seriously looks like a daycare exploded in there. Now I wait until he's gone to bed at night to put everything away. What's the point in cleaning up when he's just going to get everything out again? And I'm pretty sure I'm not the only mom who does this if this Pinterest find is any indication.
