Bump update: 25 Weeks

According to my pregnancy app, the baby is about the size of a squash or a rutabaga, at about 13.5 inches long and weighing in at approximately a pound and a half. The baby is putting on more fat and rounding out his wrinkled skin. He is also growing more hair and if we could see him, we'd be able to distinguish hair texture and color. We're betting straight brunette again.
I am feeling particularly huge already, but according to the doctor, I'm measuring right on track. Just an FYI for people who aren't familiar with it, but doctors measure a pregnant woman's stomach from her pelvis to the top of the uterus to estimate the growth of the baby. The measurement in centimeters should be close to the number of weeks that the woman is. At 25 weeks, I measured 24 centimeters so I was really close. This generally means nothing to me though because I typically measured pretty average with Owen and he was still a fairly large baby. I am pretty certain that I'm going to have another 8-pound plus baby.
I am feeling pretty good lately, though a bit fatigued one the weekends most of the time because I tend to wear myself out during the week trying to get a lot of stuff done while Tim is at work. This week in particular I sorted through everything in our guest room so that we can get it cleaned out and begin transitioning it into Owen's bedroom. We were able to take a box of stuff to Goodwill to donate as well which made me feel good because I know the house is going to seem like it has shrunk when we get all the baby stuff out of the attic in a few months.
My stomach and back have started to feel sore as my belly continues to grow. The baby seems to prefer the right side of my body better and my stomach typically looks lopsided when I'm lying down. Owen did the same thing. Maybe I have a wonky uterus that's more comfy on one side?
I am enjoying baby kicks more regularly now. He tends to kick around mealtimes and especially at night when I am falling asleep. Watching him kick and move from the outside is still one of the coolest experiences of being pregnant.
My next doctor's appointment is in early June and that is when I will be tested for gestational diabetes. I am hoping that I pass the test again. My mom had it and I do make big babies, so it's always a concern of mine.

  1. Glad you are feeling well overall! I wish there was a way for pregnant ladies to keep up their energy levels yet still get it all done. If you find the secret, I'd love to know! (Although is is my last pregnancy). Good luck at your test next month!!
