I have finished collecting books for Owen's Christmas Book Advent Calendar. I began buying books in October and with the help of some of our family members, I was able to easily collect twenty-four books over the past month. I used a mixture of Christian and secular Christmas books and some that were just winter-themed.
I saw this idea on Pinterest last year and thought that it seemed like a cute idea. Now that I have a toddler who loves reading, I just know that it is the perfect idea for us to count down the days until Christmas. I can't wait until Saturday!
I have wrapped all the books, labeled them with numbers and placed them in a basket. Starting on December 1, Owen will unwrap one book per day until Christmas. I may even plan some activities to do with Owen that relate to certain books and we may watch a movie or two based on the books (like the animated version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas). After Owen unwraps them, I will store the books in a basket so that we can read them again and again throughout the holiday season.
