Bump update: 19 Weeks

We are now 19 weeks, 2 days into this pregnancy. If this baby comes early like Owen, then I am already more than halfway through this pregnancy. It's crazy to think about. I already feel like this pregnancy is going to go by much faster than with Owen. According to my pregnancy app, the baby is the size of a grapefruit and now weighs about half a pound. I will be curious to see what they estimate the baby to be when we have our anatomy  ultrasound in a few weeks because Owen always weighed more than the books estimated. The baby's arms and legs are in proportion to his body now. And obviously, we know that he is a he now. I was the first to see his goods when we had our ultrasound last week and it was very clear that we were expecting another boy. After feeling a little sad about not being able to buy pink clothes and floral headbands and things like that, I am really happy about having another boy. I am excited that Owen will have a brother close to his age and that they will be able to share a room growing up and play together. I am happy that we can reuse a lot of our stuff from when Owen was a baby and it will be fun to be able to have baby brother wear some of my favorite outfits that Owen wore. We did buy him a few brand new outfits of his own though.
We have a few boy's names that we like, but we have not made any for sure decisions on a name yet. It may be that we go to the hospital with a few options and see what he looks like before deciding on a name. Nothing feels as right as Owen did.
In other news, I am feeling movement daily now and even Tim was able to feel the baby kick a couple days ago. I'm very surprised that he was able to so early because even the kicks I feel are still very light, but baby boy gave me a good kick the other night and Tim was lucky enough to have his hand on my stomach at just the right moment.
I have begun to gain weight now and look more noticeably pregnant and not just a little overweight. I can still fit into my regular pants, which is awesome because I hate maternity pants. But I went ahead and bought a few new maternity shirts and a maternity dress this week so that I'm prepared when I can't fit into my regular clothes anymore.
I am definitely in the honeymoon stage of pregnancy and feel good almost 100 percent of the time. I have a little bit of sciatic nerve pain every once in a while, but my headaches have mainly gone away and I have energy and can eat just about anything.
I am looking forward to seeing the baby again at our anatomy scan in a couple weeks and I can't wait to start feeling the baby move regularly and stronger.

  1. Sounnds like things are moving along very well for you! I agree, it will be nice not having to buy new clothes and being able to reuse a lot of the things you already have for Owen. Don't you love when the daddy's can start to feel the babies move? :)

  2. You look great! I thought I felt the baby move Saturday night, but haven't felt anything since. I LOVE the feeling of knowing the baby is moving and shaking in there though! Owen will love his little brother, I can't wait to see pictures of them growing up together. Can you believe you are over half way?! I agree, the 2nd pregnancy is going by so much faster this time around.
